Hadley & Davis is a small law firm centrally located in Calgary, Alberta, near the downtown core and the Stampede Grounds. We also operate an office in the Bow Valley located in the heart of Canmore, Alberta.

At Hadley & Davis, we offer friendly, personalized and efficient legal services to our clients and attempt to reduce the complexities of the law into something more manageable and understandable for our clients.

Hadley & Davis is currently comprised of two lawyers, Donald H. Hadley and Stephen C. Davis, as well as support staff.

Stephen C. Davis, B.A., B. Ed., LLB

Stephen received all of his university degrees from the University of Calgary. He served for six years as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces before teaching high school and junior high school in Calgary, Canmore, Drumheller, and Tokyo, Japan for six years. He was admitted to the Alberta Bar in 1997 and practices primarily in the areas of criminal defence law and real estate law.

Stephen has extensive experience in criminal defence law and has appeared in all levels of Court in Alberta. He has represented clients in Provincial Court Traffic Division, Provincial Court Criminal Division, Provincial Court Youth Division, the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta, as well as the Court of Appeal of Alberta. He has defended clients charged with virtually all of the common offences in the Criminal Code of Canada, Controlled Drugs and Substances Act and the Traffic Safety Act.

Stephen is an active volunteer in the Calgary community. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Calgary John Howard Society and the Alberta John Howard Society.  He volunteers with Calgary Legal Guidance and the University of Calgary's Student Legal Assistance in Calgary as and advising lawyer and is also the advising lawyer for Student Legal Assistance's Banff/Canmore Summer Clinics.  He is also active with the University of Calgary Faculty of Law's Mooting program where he acts as a judge for various competitins and as a coach for Gale Cup Moot team.  Stephen has also instructed at the Alberta Law Society's Bar Admission Course, teaching criminal law, assisted the Calgary Police Service recruit training with witness preparation and instructed at Mount Royal College.
